I’m looking to get a recording program for my computer so I can record some demos…I’m not really an expert in this field, so I’m not looking to buy expensive software, nor am I looking for a program that is not user-friendly. I’m looking for a program that has many good features but is simple enough to use, and at a good price. People have recommended Pro Tools to me before, which is way too complex for me to try to figure it out.

I just want to choose I program that I will really enjoy using and find great use for in the future.

Pro Tools is professional software – so yes it is very complex. If you want something free check out Audacity or WavePad, but if you want something a little more advanced check out Adobe Audition, Fruity Loops or Sony Acid music studio. If you have a MAC – GarageBand is pretty cool software.

Audacity is free, open source software for recording and editing sounds. It is available for Mac OS X, Microsoft Windows, GNU/Linux, and other operating systems.

Basically I am looking for a recording system similar to the "Instant Replay" cameras that are used at sporting events, just on a smaller scale and digital. The quality doesn’t have to be excellent, even 240×320 would do, if it had enough fps. Is there a digital camera that records in a continuous loop (theoretically forever) until the user tells it to stop? Anyone heard of this?

They are called CCTV cameras coupled to a hard drive recorder.

I am looking for classes or schooling that can teach audio & recording techniques starting from the basics. Know of any good places in LA?

Do a web search using: Los Angeles music production schools, there are lost of them.

I am trying to record me playing counter strike, but the screen recorders i have tried so far lag when recording, and does not record audio. Can someone tell me a good software that does not lag and can record audio? thanks

If you prefer more features such as zoom in and out during recording, draw to screen, mouse cursor highlight etc, try BSR Screen Recorder.
It can record audio from various sources such as microphone, speakers (what you hear) etc.

I’m trying to record on this new software magix music studio ten deluxe but when i play it back only comes out of one speaker… how can i record so it plays back on both speakers.

(the software is called MAGIX music studio TEN DELUX)

It says U have a "task assistant" on the software.

I’m 13 and am thinking about making a home studio to record audio. so what i would like to know is what is good and affordable way to do this and what would i need? like what kind of microphone would i want to record audio and what is a gud program that i can use to make beats. Please and thank you.

Audacity is a terrific, multi-track, FREE audio recording software. Just Google for it. As to a microphone, unless you have a mixer, just get a USB mic for ~$30 or so and run directly into your PC.
