How can home studio look like? How is it connected?

Realize, please, that different needs result in different studio. I’d change some things in my studio now, but some of my equipment was bought before I planned to have a studio like this. There is no room treatment, I’m quite tight on budget – and I also have to share the room with my family. :-)

Do you need guitars? Two microphones? Maybe with electric-acoustic guitar you don’t need any condenser microphone. Do you record voices? Do you create rather electronic music? Do you really need mixing console? There are tons of questions you have to ask first.
