@Rootwitch06 would you recommend the dsm2′s over the yamaha hs80ms?

@juwon90 Loved the sound of them, but nothing but problems with the tweeters. Kept having to ship them back, and they’d send me new ones. M-Audio knows there’s a problem, and rather than send me my 4th set of them, they finally offered to swap them out for the DSM2′s – Even exchange. So, that’s what I have now. Love those too.

    I don’t understand …
I don’t understand the debates – Most DAWs have the same specs, so the output is the same. It’s all ‘ease of use’. I started with Cubase about 10 years ago, so I learned their interface. That’s what I’m used to. I tried PT M-Powered, and wasn’t able to quickly see how to do all the things I already knew how to do in Cubase, so I gave up. One thing I will say – PT always seems to be behind the curve on supporting 3rd party stuff. I always see “Now works in PT” with apps that I’ve used for ages.

Cubase is WAAAAY better than protools…I like the plugins much better, plus you can interface Reason with cubase i a snap…But I still know how to use protools…

    I like that transporter device…

No kidding…. 9 out of 10 studio tours on YouTube are punctuated with “no what I’m sayin’?” instead of a period at the end of every sentence. Also, i should have had my TV blasting in the background…That seems to be the “in thing” too. LOL!

Now that I have the isolation room, the true character of the mic comes through. For the money, it’s a pretty warm, rich mic. Likely the best in it’s price range. Can’t say it’s the best around, as I’ve only had 2 others – One (non-vavle) $99 MXL, a Sterling Audio, and this one. Still, with plugins these days, you can make just about anything sound pretty sweet. Thanks for the comment.

I disagree as well. They have a fluctuation of 3db throughout the audio spectrum and lack bass needed for hiphop/club music. I own a pair of Jbl lsrs and they only fluctuate 1.5 db from 50hz to 20khz.
THe flatter the response= technically more accurate.

Also, since this vid was recorded, I mounted a 17″ flat panel monitor in the isolation closet, and have a wireless mouse in there, so I can monitor input levels, add tracks, adjust the control room/headphone mix, etc.

    Who’s to say I’m …
Who’s to say I’m not a midget…? LOL…. No, I’m not… Actually, I’ve never had an issue with the monitor height. Today my 40″ HDTV will be arriving, and I plan to have that where the 19″ monitors are now, then I plan to (somehow) mount the 19″ monitors above the 40″. That way, I can run Cubase in the 40″, and my VST’s and whatnot will be up in the 19″ monitors. Gonna be sweet!
