I need to know EVERYTHING about how to start my own home recording studio?

Please, i need to know EVERYTHING about how to start my own home recording studio. Equipment, prices, websites, good and cheap brands, etc….

I will appreciate a lot.

God Bless =D

Alot of these questions about, I just answered one, and you sounded pretty desperate. And as a sound engineer, I feel I have nothing better to do than to help. ;)

START WITH A MIXER .

I’m not sure what your price range is or what your music genre is, but a Behringer mixer has never failed me yet. The Behringer Xenyx 2442FX costs just 700 bux Australian, and it’s not half bad. Loaded with features, what more could you ask for?

An Audio Interface – get an M-Audio Delta 1010 PCI 8 input multi-track card. It’s perfect for recording more than one source at once. You’ll need a decent computer that supports PCI cards for this though. Most desktop PC’s?

A good collection of microphones. I don`t set much to store by Behringer mics, but they seem decent. They are usually around the 80-300 AUD price range. Try some Rode mics, around the 300-600 AUD price range …. Rode is worth it.

You`ll need a big mess of cables. Get together a good 200 bux just incase.

I know this wasn’t indepth at all, but i`d LOVE to help and explain as much as I can. Instant messaging is a good start. You can email me at hero-jaejoongie@hotmail.com and i can give you a COMPLETE lesson on recording. Don’t forget, it always helps to have someone who knows what they`re doing with recording … cos recording can get messy.

I`d love to help. Contact soon ! until then in whatever other plans you have, good luck ! ~
