BOOMER’S Home Recording Studio

Boomer’s Recording Studio in Maple Ridge BC. 48 Tracks on Cubase with a Firestudio. At the very end of the video, there is a sample of 2 songs we are currently recording. During the video is some “computer music” I recorded in 30 minutes with my midi keyboard.

Where do you find VST inputs? Because I don’t remember seeing it.
    And it didn’t come with a controller interface … I don’t think.

Yeah. I need to record all inputs on my Presonus FireStudio at once. But when I go to VST connections on Cubase it only allows me to select two inputs at a time as a “deafult bus” and those are the only two inputs I’m able to record with. If you need any more info just ask. THANKS FOR ALL OF YOUR HELP.

In Cubase, under “VST INPUTS”, you will see an area that shows groupings of 2 tracks at a time with a clickable button to turn it off or on. Whenever you first open Cubase, it will be set on track 1 and 2 only. Before recording my 7 tracks of drums at the same time, I must go in and tell the software I need to use all 8 inputs at the same time. Do you have the mixer/controller interface that comes with the firestudio?

Can you tell me more about what gear you have and what you are trying to do?
I know in my Cubase software, it will only take 2 tracks at a time until I go to an area and click to allow the other 6 as well for a total of 8 tracks at the same time. The area is VST inputs.

    Hey man. Thanks for …
Hey man. Thanks for watching. Well, there are many ways to wire your gear. For recording, I mainly have all 8 mics go into my Firestudio. From there it connects via firewire to my computer. From there I take a left and right out to my main board for playback and control the individual volumes and EQ of the tracks with the software. Hope that helps. Check out the Presonus forums for great tips and info.

Hey man. I have the Presonus “FireStudio” which is a firewire connection to your PC with 8 inputs that can all record at the same time. When I bought my interface it was around $1,000 Canadian. Then you can use 8 mics on your drum kit at the same time. Hope that helps

Dude……..that was the funniest comment I’ve ever read! Ya got me there! Ya that midi song I did in the first few weeks of getting all the gear is not good enough to be in a 70’s movie! I will loose it soon and replace it with all the “real” tracks we have done so far.

Thanks for watching and making us all laugh!
