Audio interfaces and software: What is a good one for recording acoustic guitar ?
I tried asking at online and land music stores, and I couldn’t find anyone who seemed to know anything about these devices. What is a good brand? IS USB or Firewire better? Most interfaces seem to come packaged with software. Which recording software is good: Pro tools, Cakewalk Sonar, Cubase, etc.

Your best bet if you want to get into music would be to buy an Apple Mac computer and to start using the Logic software line. If you just want to do some casual amateur recording you can buy Logic Express and do a lot with it. And then if you decide you want to go a little further you can get Logic Pro. Logic Pro is literally what professionals use to record the music you listen to every day, and if you are going into any field of art, even at an amateur level, your best bet is to get a Mac.
