So just to clarify, this device is equipped with physically modeled guitar amps and the like, as the SC-8850 is? I’m really interested in one, but this is my sticking point.

    Great if it’s the …
Great if it’s the case. Just wondering if the sound will be fuller than what’s on the SC-8850. Even some 4-voiced sounds on the 8850 were thin compared to even the XV-2020. I know we’ll find out in April, but any hints on how many voices a preset will have? 8? :) I’ll keep the SonicCell which seems to be superior from Roland’s website, but I can imagine there are ppl who have GS tracks and want them to sound exactly like what’s on a Sound Canvas, not slightly altered like on the XV/Fantoms.

    Yes, all of the above.

Looks almost like my Sonic cell. So there’s finally a GS sound source that uses the Fantom/XV engine, and is fully compatible with the SC-8850 too?

    Interesting bit of …
Interesting bit of kit. I wonder:

    1. If it has the Sonic Cell sound engine.
    2. How it compares in price to the SC.
