What music studio software is better? Cake Walk Sonar 7 or FL studio 9?

I’m looking for an affordable and reliable music studio program. Right now I’m leaning for FL studio 9 ( fruity version) as opposed to Cake walk Sonar 7 (XL)

Help?

I think FL Studio is better and the price is reasonable. FL Studio is a full-featured, open architecture, music production environment capable of audio recording, composing, sequencing and mixing, for the creation of professional quality music. The FL Studio philosophy is creative Freedom:
Free your audio – Instruments can be routed to any mixer track.
Free your mind – Choose your preferred workflow, compose using the step-sequencer or piano roll.
Others agree with this too http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20090407213748AAR4mR8

It’s really up to your personal tastes. Try out the demos if you haven’t already. If you buy something that others told you to, it won’t mean it’s what works best for for. Personally I prefer FL Studio. It’s very flexible, you create your own workflow and organization.

The cool thing about FL Studio is that you get lifetime free updates included after you buy the current version, which is 9 as you know. So you’ll get FL Studio (whichever edition you buy: Fruity, Producer, ect..) 10,11, 12, ect.. for free as they are released.

If you decide to go with FL Studio, be aware that fruity version doesn’t allow audio recording or clip/wav form view: http://flstudio.image-line.com/documents/features.html

Whichever edition of FL you decide to purchase, here’s an instant 10% discount you can use on your entire first order directly from Image-Line:

I would not go for FL Studio Fruity Edition. You’ll be missing quite a lot of features that the demo version does have, like audio recording, the Edison audio editor, full automation support and more.
The Producer Edition is a little more but totally worth it.

I haven’t used Cakewalk in a while so I’m not sure how it compares, but to me the both programs look quite different. You should test drive both well and see for yourself what you like best, that’s the only way to do it right. Is Sonar 7 actually still available? I thought they were on version 8.5 by now, with more instruments and effects etc. That’s also the great thing about FL Studio, completely free lifetime updates. I bought FL Studio at version 5 years ago and now I’m using version 9, at no extra cost.

In case you end up getting FL Studio, you can get 10% discount on your first order from image-line with this promo link for new customers: https://support.image-line.com/jshop/shop.php?offer=Default&promo=BACJBAA468

    Good luck and have fun!
