Condencer mics don’t act like compressors!! If you speak soft, you get soft. If you scream on it, you get a LOT of screaming. Get your facts right..

When we got our MXL it was $50 but I think its $60-$70 now. We bought ours from Musiciansfriend.

Yes it can work just fine. It’s certainly not the best for vocals but it will works pretty good.
