    The home studio is the best! I made a home studio video a couple months ago with my 27 imac i7, rode k2, axiom pro 61, logic 9, i love it. This is very informative!

    Yeah. I hope that there actually aren’t many ppl who spend huge amounts of money into gear and then figure that they are good at making music/recording etc. I’m happy to know that at least I didn’t fall for such lie, but instead bought only what I need.

    @TheCexar89 some prefer to have 2 screens so they can spread out their daw workspace (ie sequencing window on one screen and mixer on the other)

    It doesn’t mean your an engineer, he is right. You can have millions of dollars with the top notch gear, but if you know nothing about mixing what good would it do? For me the reasoning for getting high quality equipment was my conquering of the budget stuff. I believe working from the ground up gives the best direction toward success. You get to learn more

    @choppersteve22 I …
    @choppersteve22 I think all the devices have RS (6.3mm Jack) outputs, and your monitors have TRS inputs, so simply buying 6 TRS leads will do the trick (TRS connections on the Hercules are mono)

    Hi there
    I wonder if you can offer some advice
    I need to connect a korg r3, MPC2500, 2 Ikey monitors to a Hercules 16/12fw audio interface
    What cables do i require to do this??

    They make a very …
    They make a very good comment, with technogly today you don’t need to go to a studio anymore, a few hundred bucks plus a PC will get you a top notch home studio. What it won’t get you is good musicians or a producer. My Wife has written good songs but it took a producer (good friend) to tweak it and make it great. Unfortunately there not on youtube yet

    there is a real …
    there is a real difference between USB and FireWire. Generally speaking firewire products usualy are high-end products and will cost you more. FW compared to USB is closer to the controller (less overhead) and will give you less latency then comparable USB products. However, this is only the case with well designed products and with the modern lineup you should choose what fits your requirements the best as many disadvantages have been overcome (USB).

    and then the most …
    and then the most important thing: knowledge. Without knowing what to do the most expensive equipment cna prove useless, as bargain cheap equipment can produce jewels in hands of someone who knows what to do. Best of luck and if you have any questions, let me know!

    I think I am close… I have my mixer, computer, software, an arsenal of guitars, effects, and amps. All I need is a few mics, a good desk, a set of good quality monitors, and a place to put it all…
