How big should a home recording studio be?
We are building a garage and a home studio. How big should it be?
Think about your needs:
How many musicians will be working at one time?
How much gear will be stored there — and in what manner (instruments in hard cases require less space than exposed or soft-case ones)
What kind of gear — performance as well as recording?
What are your electrical needs? Can you wire the place specifically
with power sources where you’ll need them?
Sound-proofing materials can add many inches to the thickness of each wall. Remember this when drawing plans/figuring floor space.
Separate control booth…
All of these things play a role in how big your studio should be.
I may have over-looked some things, but that’s what I can think of now.
Well it should be big enough for everything to work out! it doesnt have to be huge to be good or really tiny to work ether. make sure it’s going to be good quility and it will fit in the space you have.

That is going to depend on how big a band , but I cant give you an exact space .That depends on mic ,instruments ,and what vocals you will be recording. But if its just vocals the actual space doesnt have to be big at all.
