What is the difference between linear and digital recording ?

Author: I’m looking into purchasing a portable field recorder and wonder what are my best options….
All depending on what you want to record in the field. They both can basically do the same thing, it’s just a slight difference in quality and storage space. Digital is the easiest way to go.
