Ableton Live has very high marks. We just got it in at our studio and one of the producers already swears by it. I have only seen it but it has great work flow. You can get a demo pretty easily.

What is the best free Recording software?

Hi everybody! See, I want to do voice recording in my Toshiba laptop (like lectures) so that I can later burn them to DVDs. I have a mic with me already. Now which free software can I use to record myself and get a good sound quality? Any help is appreciated.

Audacity is an excellent free recording program. It can perform basic edits as well. Download it with the link below;

What is a good video recording software?

I recently purchased a Logitech C910 webcam so I can record Youtube videos, and the picture quality and video qualities are great. However, as soon as I switch the photo/video option on the Logitech video recording software to video, the frame-rate plummets to a measly .3 frames per second. Please recommend a good video recording/editing software I can use with the webcam, if it is helpful I’ll give you 10 points!

Never tried it.

What computer video recording software would you recommend?

I’m looking for a video recording software for my computer so I can record videos for my games and stuff. I don’t care if it costs a little bit to buy it, but I don’t want to to be over 40$ if it can be helped. I’ve heard of Hypercam 2 and 3, but I don’t want to pay 40 dollars to register it if there are other alternatives. But if you would recommend I download hypercam 2 and register it, then I would do that.

you can try Total Screen Recorder. it records your audio and video with great quality. i am using it to record my webcam videos with my girlfriends.

What are some names of recording software that will produce CD quality recordings?

My band is looking into putting out a demo CD, but recording studios are way too expensive to use just for a demo. So my question is, is anyone familiar with recording software/equipment that we can use in a regular home? Note: We are not looking for anything expensive just something that we can get our moneys worth out of.

Reaper is a great program with amazing bang for the buck. You get a month to try the full version before you have to pay for the registration key, which costs $60. There is also Logic for Macs which comes with lots of editing capabilities as well as a disc mastering processor. It is a bit pricey compared to Reaper, however.

Audacity is free, but I do not recommend it.

The hardware on the other hand….that can get quite expensive, even with the lower priced stuff. A Zoom H2 is a great all around recorder. It may not be a full blown multitrack system, but it gets usable results.

What recording software should I use if I want to record my voice, and also, what microphone?

Im trying to find out what software and microphone I can use for recording my voice, to digitally enhance it like artists do in this day.

Well if you’re looking for just recording at home, I would suggest getting a usb microphone such as the Sony Vocal Mic (http://www.futureshop.ca/en-CA/product/sony-sony-fv420-vocal-microphone-fv420/10002238.aspx?path=089b1438120d408c2ff6b78cd95adb83en02).

As for software, you can use any number of softwares. Personally, I would reccomend Audacity. Although not as stylish as programs like Mixcraft and Adobe Audition, it is completely free and far more functional.
