Building a home recording studio with a budget of around $1100? Help with ideas?

I’m interested in building a home recording studio to record some local high school bands that are always looking to record new songs and demos. I need help with knowing the equipment I would need and maybe suggestions of specific products? My budget is around $1,100 give or take a couple hundred. And I already have a mac I can use for recording. Any suggestions would be a lot of help. Thanks.

Needs:
1) Audio Inteface
What really matters here is how many inputs do you need.
2) Mics
1 or 2 LDC’s (condenser), 2 or 3 dynamics.
Drums needs 3+ mics usually.
3) Accesories:
Pop filter, cables (xlr, 1/4, etc), mic stands.
4) Headphones
Sennheiser HD280 are amazing.
5) Monitors
KRK Rokits are good for the price.
6) DAW
GarageBand, Logic, Cockos Reaper, Pro Tools, etc.

If i want to begin a home recording studio for audio books?

Considering a home audio studio to record audio books. Any ideas on the equipment needed? Have a microphone with usb hook up. Interfacing needed? Sound room? Can you make much money at recording audio books?

with a USB mic you can download audacity and start recording right away. use a small room or build your own isolation booth to reduce room noise in the recording.

there might be some legal issues you’ll have to worry about regarding rights to the work. i have no idea who to contact on stuff like that (publishers, writers, distrubuters, etc).

as far as money goes i can kind of see that going either way. more that likely i bet you wont make too much unless you land a deal to do a lot of books or something like that. you never know
