Where can I find a decent audio recording device?

I’m recording some videos, but the audio on my camera isn’t that great. Any recommendations on a decent audio recorder that I can use to use in my videos?

I found a site that gives consumer reviews on digital recorders …… they list about 6 or 7 of top ones with details and info on each, too. this might help you compare and hear what others are saying aout their purchases. :)

What is a free OS that I can use for recording audio?

I have a few old computers i decided to put into one and use for audio recording. Instead of pirating an old windows OS I thought maybe there is something free that would work. Preferably windows compatible.

Windows compatible might be a tall order – however, there are many versions of Linux that are free and also have a wide range of audio apps.
Some builds of Linux are specifically designed for audio work – offering very low latency for sound drivers etc.

What type of wireless audio recording system would you recommend?

I’m in a ghost hunting group and im having trouble finding a good wireless audio transmitter and reciever system. We dont currently own a DVR system, but I would prefer a system that I can record straight to a program like audacity on my laptop.

How to do an audio recording for commerical?

I need to make a commercial for a project and I want to an audio recording as if it were going to play on the radio instead of a video presentation. Does any know how I can do this on a laptop, or if it’s even possible on a laptop. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If your laptop has a microphone jack and some sort of
audio recording software, all you need to add is a microphone.

Cheap mics (anything less than $50) usually sound horrible.
If you can buy or borrow a decent one, you should get good results.

Every laptop has a build in audio recorder or you can download Audacity.
Audacity allows you to do audio editing as well.
Your laptop may already have a built-in microphone; if not, you need one.

What the fuck is wrong with my microphones/audio recording?

Every time I fucking talk into ANY microphone I attach to my computer on ANY program, what comes out is chopped up audio. Like it recorded for a fraction of a second, stopped recording for another, and kept doing this. I have no fucking idea why it does this and it’s really pissing me off. I knew I shouldn’t have gotten a fucking gateway
It’s not the jack because the build in one with the webcam does the same thing

could be the microphone jack. and yes, Gateways suck!

Is it illegal to carry an audio recording device on you?

My father works as a custodian and he’s constantly harassed by his superiors.

In order to document these harassments, he uses an audio recording device so that he can write down and document each incident that happens.

One day, he misplaced the device and his superiors found it and are now trying to jail him for illegally recording. It wasn’t as if he was going to use the actual audio against them. He was simply using it as a reference for himself.

Can they take him to court and jail him for it?
If he is going to be fined, how much would the fine be?

Yes. Recording someone without their consent is illegal. Going to JAIL for it is a bit far-fetched, though. An "Invasion of Privacy" lawsuit probably isn’t though.

what computor to buy for audio recording?

I want to buy a computor or laptop for good quality audio recording but I’m not sure what requirements I need? What is better computor or laptop? any advice on type or brand? I have a budget of $1000 -$1500
I have no idea at all? Thanks, any advice would be great.

well you can get a way more powerfull desktop at the same price than a laptop but your budget is alright so its up to you. You are gona need a fast processor or processor’s and lots of ram plus a decent sized hd. i do audio rec on my desktop and i have a amd x4 640 processor that works great 4gb of ram which i would like to have 8 but i only spent 500 for my tower and i got a 1b of hd space and it works fine. Also a side note you will need a interface to plug into i recommend a pro tools mbox.
