i’ve looked, but i have found three different holes on the camera. but i cant tell if any of them are audio recepters. and it wont record audio either. does anyone know?

the polaroid a550 has a built in microphone but I do not know if you can use it to record audio only or if it records only the sound when using the video function.
With the description of the iZone 550 (different camera) I have not found a microphone mentioned.

I’m not talking about windows sound recorder. I need a program that will give me the highest quality sound recording using a high quality mic. Also needs to have time stamping so I can align the audio tracks with my video. I need to record my interviews and background noise for my documentary and it would be alot cheaper to just use my laptop to record the audio than getting an additonal portable recording device.

Have a look into Audacity, its free/open source and *should* do what you’re trying to do

When you use programs to record audio from streamed videos, does your volume effect the recording? For instance if I recorded it while my pc volume was low, would it be low? If my pc volume was set high, was the recording be louder?

It doesn’t matter. One is output and one is input.

attach file using e mail, 50mb not a problem with broadband. maybe convert to high quality mp3 using Wavelab or similar software

Audio CD’s only have 700MB storage capacity. I wondered if you can use a DVD for audio recording as they have around 1.4 GB.

There is actually an Audio-DVD specification for multi-channel audio using DVDs. You can probably still find and buy Audio DVDs.

However, most regular DVD players can’t play Audio DVds. You can certainly store any type of file you want but most likely you can play those files only on a PC, although there are DVD players that will play MP3s from a data DVD.

i am trying to record audio for some videos that im making, but i want to record it without bringing a laptop around with me. i want to use an external condenser mic (rather than the internal camcorder one) and i want to be able to record it to like an external drive for later use on a computer. is there any device capable of doing this?

I do a radio show and record my show. I want to make it available online for people to listen in wav or mp3 for visitors to listen. I have access to my website. I know how to convert file into mp3. The audio recording is about 50 minutes long (edited). I would also like to posit on Facebook and Linkedin and Twitter as well. I want to do it for free.
