I just bought a samsung galaxy prevail and I would like to know if there is any way to make an audio recording on it, or a voice recording. Can you record sounds or download sounds and make them your ring tone? I need help.

I do not know the name of those recording things, I am making animation and need the equipment for a recording studio. the part I am looking for is the display that shows if levels are ok, with the pin/needle moving with audio (goes past red and sounds loud and muffled) you know the ones but do you know what the equipment is that uses them? trying to find on google 3dwarehouse a device that has a few on there but don’t know what to type as everything i try is useless.. please help

They are VU meters. They show average gain level of the audio signal. They can be used by many instruments to show the level of the input signal. Red means clipping or distortion.

They are found in analog mixers, dynamics units like compressors and in Mic/Line preamps.

How to fix audio recording in Fraps?

I tried recording with Fraps and have it set to use both mic audio and system audio. It records everything, but my mic audio comes out a little ahead from what it should. I hear myself reacting to something as the event is happening, as opposed to right after. It also recorded around a second of my talking after I turned off the recording in Fraps. Any help with fixing the problem or ideas on why it is happening is appreciated!

Where can I upload an audio recording from my phone online?

Ok so basically I have an audio recording on my phone that I need to show a friend of mine so I sent it to my computer and now I need to know a site where I can upload the audio file online and then be able to share the link so she can listen to it. I was going to try youtube but can I only upload videos there? I want to upload an audio track not a video. Help please.

If the recording is small enough you can email it to them, but passing large files through email can often cause problems and in many cases will fail. Anything over 5MB is often considered "too large" for many free email systems.

It’s not always easy to find free online sites that will host the audio for streaming purposes, because such a site would be abused by people uploading music mp3s.

You can instead upload your audio file to any of the free public file sharing sites, which will give you a link to the uploaded file, and you then send the link to your friend. I’d recommend any of these:

I have mentioned a word-by-word paragraph in my thesis which was taken from an audio recording I did at an Interview I faced just a couple of weeks ago. He stated some information that is important for the thesis so I mentioned them in a paragraph. So how do I cite the lines? Is a bibliography needed?

An answer with a simple example would be really helpful and sufficient

In a laptop, if I want to do audio recording from external tape recorder, in which socket should I insert the cord? Mic or Headphone? What changes should be made in sound system of laptop? Should I click on ‘Aux in’ or ‘Microphone for recording’? I am using Window 7.

Does anyone know how to remove noise from an audio recording?

I downloaded audacity, but unfortunately the only way to remove noise is to make a noise profile from a short segment of just the noise so it knows what to remove. This is a problem because I was recording a concert and I want to remove the feedback from the speakers which is occuring the entire time so when I select a portion for the noise profile, it deletes all my audio. Does that make sense?

The Noise reduction feature you are using in Audacity is meant to remove broadband noise (like AC noise, excessive room noise etc) it will not remove concert feedback sound as that sound is very frequency specific and not broadband.
Your best bet would be to use an equalizer plugin in audacity and apply a very deep (24 to 36dB) but narrow cut at the frequency at which the feedback is happening.
This kind of work is better done in a Professional Audio Software like ProTools.
However, more importantly what this really requires is an experienced Audio engineer who knows what he/she is doing.
That said, there is no harm in you trying out what I suggested. Just make sure you have a backup copy of the concert else where so you can always go back to it, should something go awry.
You never know, you just might learn something new about how audio works.
