How to convert quicktime audio recording into iTunes?

Author: I have an audio recording in IMGP.WAV and I dragged it into iTunes and it sounds bad. It sounds good in quicktime, so what should i convert it to in order for it to play and how should I do so? ITS OF ME AND BOBBY MCFERRIN!!
