I want to record myself singing a song but use the music and backup vocals from the original. So basically cut out the lead female singers voice. Is this possible and with what software?

Hi I’m David Campos and Welcome to my studio
today I want to talk about home recording software and home built studios
this is a subject very close to my heart
I actually grew up in recording studios , my father was a very successful composer and he wrote a lot of jingles and produced music for corporate and he even had a little bit of success in the music business and you know my memories as a child are of running around the recording studio with big multitrack analogue reel to reel and these huge consoles with buttons and knobs. I always used to look at the sound engineer and the producers as been these real geniuses and wondered how they knew which button did what and slowly but surely as I grew up , first of all i sang in recording sessions by the time I was 8 or 9 . I composed my first broadcast song on TV by the time I was 12 or 13 which was used for an advertisement campaign and as computers came in more and more those were my two loves my first love was music and my second love was computers , slowly but surely computers took over.All the roles that the desk used to do , that the analogue multitrack used to record onto , slowly but eventually we were doing everything on the computer from recording to sequencing to FX , to mixing to mastering . Thats where I kind of started to, I remember saying to my Dad ” You Dad, we don’t need all this gear, we don’t need this facility, we can set up a small studio at home that could achieve exactly the same results in the comfort of our home producing international quality music” and thats were we took our first step. We built our studio , I remember I was 14 or 15 when we built our first home studio.Then we built our second one when I was about 18, Improved it , that was the second studio that I was involved with my dad. And then when I was 21 I left my father and started my own music production company . I was actually kind of in a pickle because I was on my own. . Pro Tools and BOSS (made by Roland) make the very best state of the art RAP and HIP HOP recording and sequencing tools on the market. There really is no substitute. You need Pro Tools to record with if you want broadcast quality recordings and if you are serious about your sound, then the will eventually require the Roland SP 555. The BOSS VE-20 vocal processor is also a requirement but, on that you can get along without if you are on a budget. Whit this equipment, he will be able to produce broadcast quality music in his home that he could sell on iTune or Amazon.com, CE Baby, Tunecore, or any number of other Internet sites. He could also perform live with it as well but, for that he will also need a good PA system.

I had this Sony digital video recorder. Is possible to use auto timer to record video with it …
I need to record video with my videocam at alternate time. In other words the camera will record video for a few minutes then pause. After another five minutes it’ll record again. All by itself. How to do it ?

Its to do with how quickly the sound sample is taken, cds are 44k bits per second and produce good quality sound. Only a dog can hear better than this so it pointless recording at a higher frequency than this. The higher the sample rate the more storage it takes to store the sound file.

you can record audio along with recording the screen and recording using your dvcamera
works great with no lag!
