how do i build a home recording studio?

I am trying to build a home studio for the low. other questions i would like to be answered are what program can i use to mix my tracks as in mixing my vocals with the beat and what do i need to use for sound proofing and any other items i need because i have a mic with a pop filter but i just need to get a bigger mic stand. but could all responders to this question post costs and links where to get the items. thanks.

First you need a location. Your room is ok if you don’t have a garage or any special place. You need to isolate the area where the microphone is with acoustic foam:

This will reduce the room echo and will get you crystal sounds.

The cheapest mic stand is about $12. Buy something that fits your needs

I hope you have a good audio interface or a good soundcard. It’s one of the most important part of a home studio.

For a mixing and recording software you can use audacity:
