What is a good (free) music recording software program for a computer?
I am currently using WavePad Sound Editor and it records at different times or something because when I mix my recordings they’re all out of timing and I know it isn’t my timing. I need a dependable recording program to record my songs with that’s also 100% free.
Audacity (assuming you’re using a PC) . You can download it for free here.

What is a good audio recording interface, below $300?
I record music, mostly using Ableton Live, Logic, and Garageband… I need a new recording interface, but I have a limited budget. Ideally, I want something with great audio quality, great analog to digital converters… but under $300!! Firewire would be nice, although USB is ok. Any suggestions?? Thanks!!
I don’t need many channels actually. Only one or two inputs would be fine. Not recording a band or anything, just my own compositions… Thanks!
You don’t say how may channels of simultaneous audio you are trying to capture. Line level? Guitar? Mic? with phantom? USB is used mostly for 2-4 channel audio and Firewire reserved for 8+ channels, especially higher def formats (192KHz, etc). Lexicon makes some nice ones, Tascam has 1 or 2, M-Audio has a few and can use the "M-Powered" version of Pro-Tools as well as working with Logic or Garage Band or Ableton.
Is a dell a precision 360 suitable for use in a home recording studio?
3GHZ
80GIG HD
512 MEM. i will upgrade it.
Just want to be sure it will be ok.
I will be running programmes like cubase, protools etc.
I want to be sure before I buy it at a bargain price.
The processor should have plenty of horsepower but the memory and disk should be beefed up a bit. Audio files can be quite large, especially if you start adding special effects to them. I would go with a 300 Gig drive or bigger if you can afford it. A gig of RAM should be a good starting point for XP but if you are running Vista you will want at least 2 gig.
Good luck,

What is the best recording software for guitar?
I’ve been trying to look for recording software for recording some music I’ve written. I’ve tried Sony Acid, and it’s too advanced and works mostly for loops. I’ve also tried the simple Audacity, but it’s a pain to work with. So, what is a decent (free would be great) recording program for Windows?
Mixcraft 5 (70$)
Not free, but its the best damn thing there is out there.
Its idiot proof. (I can use it)
What are the chances of starting a successful indie music studio/label?
What about working an existing indie music studio/label?
What about opening up an indie music store?
It helps if you actually know bands…and want to sign with you. An indie music store sounds more appealing and you could even catapult it into starting a studio/label. You could also host acoustic sessions for aspiring artists (which would open you up to more networking and put yourself on the map). Also, it depends on your location. A small town with little traffic will be extremely hard.
Success won’t be instant but if you have the passion and stick with it, you never know.
What type of recording equipment does Christofer Drew Ingle have in his home?
I was wonder what he has and how expensive it is? does anyone know?
If he is a successful musician, he may have a full recording studio in his home. That can cost as much as a home ($100,000 US).
You do not need to spend that much to get very good results these days. You can start with a simple USB mic connected to your computer. The free Audacity software works great.
