What recording software should I look at getting?

I’m looking to record my own music at home, I already have a Presonus Firepod, and I’m wondering what software I should look at. If it matters, I’m into recording metal/deathcore music.

Cubase/Nuendo are both awesome. So is protools. Cubase and/or Nuendo is fantastic for VSTi, effects and magnificent mixing control.

Best computer for home recording, music composition, and sequencing?

I am interested in getting more into music composition, home recording and sequencing. I have heard that Mac are superior in this field, but are extremely expensive. PC seems to have many of the same software and capability but at a much lower cost. What would you recommend?

I think I would like to be able to use Finale and Pro-Tools at some point.

The truth is that computers have nothing to do with audio quality and hit records are made with PC’s and Mac’s all the time. What you need to do is use the computer you are most comfortable with, doesn’t matter PC or MAC.

The faster the computer, the more realtime audio effects you can run on all your tracks at the same time. That’s the one thing you need to worry about.

I need a memorable and descriptive name for my music studio (for music lessons) any ideas?

I’m starting a business out of my home. I teach violin, viola, and piano, but I hope to attract enough attention to hire some teachers of other instruments to teach in the music studio of my home too. I need a business name! Any ideas? Thanks!

In Tune
thats perfect I can picture it already, In Tune music studio and lessons
good luck

Are these the only recording equipment i need to record vocals; singing?

i want to buy recording equipment only to record vocals (with instrumental) Are these things the only items I need to record?
-computer
-recording software (audacity)
-preamp
-microphone
-mic stand
(additional)
-shock mount
-pop filter

That’ll about do it. Audacity’s okay for freeware, but if you’re willing to spend money on a proper set-up, go for Pro Tools.

Also, you’ll want a decent set of headphones and speakers (not cheap-@$$ earbuds or built-in speakers) to be able to mix your stuff down properly.

i want to bulid a small home recording studio. What are the the most important things that i need.?

I looking to build a home recording studio. What are the the most important things i need to buy? What is the first step in purchasing? Where can i get the best deals.

I don’t really know about recording studio, but a good starting point would be err…maybe a recording software.
