Why do you hear your own voice different when hearing it from an audio recording?

I’m not sure what is "my" own voice’s real tone, the one that I hear everyday from myself or the one I hear from an audio recording. I’m not sure which one is the one people hears everyday???

What others hear is what you hear from a good audio recording. What you hear when you speak is a result of two signals, one coming from your ears (that is from your mouth into the surrounding air and then from there to the ears) and the second a direct feed from your vocal chords to your ear drums and auditory nerves. So, when you hear your voice from an audio recorder, it sounds different.

As mentioned, what others hear is closer to what you hear from the recording.

What is the best screen recording software for making videos?

Looking for some professional screen recording software to use to create tutorials for my clients. Any ideas on the best ones?

I think the best free one is camstudio. I use to make a lot of videos and stuff.

But for a good professional one I think Camtasia is a very good one.

If you want to look for more just type "screen recording software" into google.

what amendment does the audio home recording act fall under?

im doing this project on laws for history, and i picked music piracy.
i need to find out what amendment the AHRA(audio home recording act) falls under?

Amendment? Amendment of what?

It’s a statute passed by the US Congress under its powers to regulate copyrights, found in the Constitution, not in the amendments.

What recording equipment would allow me to record hypnosis sessions?

I need something that I can have with me during hypnosis sessions with clients where I can have a background music CD playing and a blank CD which I can then plug a mic into and record my voice along with the background music onto the blank CD as I’m doing the session. What do you reccommend? Something other than a computer…because I’m sure there is probably some way by plugging a mic into a laptop or something but I’m needing some other type of equipment.

Thanks

Hi,

I am a recording engineer at National Geographic. For all recording that gets here in the studio setting the computer and hard disk recorders are the supreme tools I use. It sounds like you want something that is portable and records directly to a CD, well this can be done. There are several pieces of gear that do exactly that. One unit I have found that dose this is the
( Marantz CDR300 ). Marantz makes great quality products that produce great recordings, but are not the cheapest on the market. I have seen the CDR300 sale for about $650.
One thing to think about when picking a recording device is the type of microphone you will be using for you recordings. A good mic makes all the difference when making quality recording so you have to make sure that the recorder itself is able to connect to a quality mic. The name of the connector you are looking for is called "XLR". A good quality recorder well have XLR inputs.

I hope this is helpful and good luck.
